How to print absolute path of a file with ‘ls’?

Use the ‘-d’ option of the ‘ls’ command.

Example:

For just the directory: ls –d /var/log

For everything in the directory: ls –d /var/log/*

For recursive listing of everything in the directory: ls –d /var/log/*/*
